Apologies, the recording started late for this session. Please see the script below for the introduction to the session:
Welcome everyone! Thank you for joining us for City Wide Nursing Rounds, where we bring nurses together to discuss clinical issues and celebrate the incredible work we are all doing across the province. My name is Lindsay Komar, and I will be your moderator for this Zoom session.A special thank you to Dr. Colleen Norris, who is the Associate Dean of Research for the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta. Her vision for these rounds has helped us to create a space where nurses in research and practice can share ideas and work together.
As nurses who live, work and play on this beautiful land, we acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 6 territory, and respect the histories, languages, and cultures of First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and all First Peoples of Canada, whose presence continues to enrich our vibrant community.
Today is our first session back from summer break! We will kick off a new year of City Wide Nursing Rounds with our annual "mini conference" to highlight the exciting work of our Undergraduate Summer Research Students.
We will feature the 33 incredible recipients of the Undergraduate Student Research Awards who conducted their research over the summer. Given the large number of students, we prerecorded their presentations for efficiency of sharing. We will play 19 videos that the students made in their research groups. They will introduce themselves and their supervisors as we go along. We have a lot of exciting research to get through, so we will not be taking live questions today. If you have a question for any of our presenters, please email me at lindsay.komar@ualberta.ca and I will connect you to them.
Alright, let’s get started!
